The AsthmaFiles is designed to be an electronic archive of text, still images, video and audio that illustrate multiple perspectives on asthma—from the vantage point of affected people in different locales and communities, heath care providers, and scientists from many different disciplines.
The challenge was to create wireframes and design mockups to clearly and effectively communicate information and cross reference it across the site.
The goal was to provide a platform that enables collaboration among content contributors and users with a wide-range of backgrounds, expertise and values.
The end result is a robust informational architecture that divides data into the following categories and labels them using differentiating icons: Communicating asthma, Caring for asthma, asthma in Society, Living with asthma and Causes of asthma. Each content area is “owned” by a designated author. Each author can create conversations (articles), invite guest posts, approve comments, etc. To learn more about the project, we invite you to view the wireframe process.
The client is currently seeking funding to develop the site.
